Middle waters child,

Taught by the Nuns and Black Robes,

Still true to her own.

Taught by earth, wind, buffalo,

Proud Osage woman.

 

The short story, “Elizabeth Journey,” received second place at the first Astra Festival of Arts’ writing contest in Independence, Kansas.
